Walnut Mocha Cake

Walnut Mocha Cake is an impressive, delicious cake to serve for any occasion!

3/4 cup milk

3 Tbsp. instant coffee

2 tsp. vanilla

1/2 cup butter

1 1/2 cups sugar

3 eggs

2 1/4 cups cake flour

3/4 tsp. salt

3 tsp. baking powder

1 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter and lightly flour two 8 inch round cake pans.

Heat milk and stir in the instant coffee until it dissolves. Add vanilla and let cool.

Cream butter and gradually add sugar, beating until light. Add eggs and beat well. Stir in coffee mixture.

Combine flour, salt, and baking powder, add to first mixture, mixing well. Stir in walnuts.

Spread batter in prepared pans and bake 30 minutes. Test cake with a toothpick.

Cool in pans for 5 minutes before turning out onto racks to cool.

Frost with Penuche Frosting.
