Three Cheese Pasta Bake

This Three Cheese Pasta Bake makes a wonderfully delicious side or entree! Serve with almost any meal.

8 oz. package penne pasta, uncooked

2 Tbsp. butter

2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour

1 1/2 cups milk

1/2 cup half & half

1 cup shredded white cheddar cheese

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 cups shredded Gruyere cheese, divided

1 tsp. salt

1/4 tsp. pepper

pinch of nutmeg

Prepare pasta according to package directions.

Meanwhile, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.

Whisk in flour until smooth, cook, whisking constantly, for one minute.

Gradually whisk in milk and half & half, cook, whisking constantly, 3-5 minutes or until thickened.

Stir in cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese and 1 cup of Gruyere cheese and next 3 ingredients until smooth.

Stir together pasta and cheese mixture, pour into a lightly greased 11 x 7 inch baking pan.

Top with remaining 1 cup Gruyere cheese.

Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 15 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
