Texas Sheet Cake

Texas Sheet Cake is a chocolaty delight to serve a crowd for any occasion!

1 cup butter

1 cup water

1/4 cup baking cocoa

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 cups sugar

1/2 tsp. salt

2 eggs, beaten

1/2 cup sour cream

1 tsp. baking soda

Frosting:

1/2 cup butter

1/4 cup baking cocoa

6 Tbsp. milk

16 oz. package powdered sugar

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1 cup walnuts, chopped

Bring butter, water and cocoa to a boil in a medium saucepan.

Remove from heat and add flour, sugar and salt, mixing well.

Beat in eggs, sour cream and baking soda and pour into a greased 15 x 10 inch jelly roll pan.

Bake at 375 degrees for 20-22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near center comes out clean.

Immediately spread Frosting over cake.

Serves 12

To prepare frosting: combine butter, cocoa and milk in a medium saucepan, bring to a boil.

Remove from heat and stir in remaining ingredients, beating until spreading consistency.
