Homemade Reese’s Eggs

Make your own Reese’s eggs for Easter! They taste so much better.

3 cups powdered sugar

1 1/2 cups creamy peanut butter

1/4 cup butter, melted

2 Tbsp. milk

1-2 bags milk chocolate chips

2 Tbsp. shortening

Beat together powdered sugar, peanut butter and butter. Dough will be crumbly. Add milk and continue to beat until the dough softens.

On a floured surface, roll out the dough about 1/2 inch thick. Use egg shape cookie cutter or shape the dough into egg shapes.

Place eggs on a cookie sheet and freeze for one hour.

Melt 1 bag of milk chocolate chips with 1 Tbsp. shortening in a microwave at 30 second intervals, stirring after each heating.

Dip each peanut butter egg in chocolate and place on wax or parchment paper to set.

If you need more chocolate melt the second bag with 1 Tbsp. shortening.

Makes about 20 eggs
