1/4 cup + 2 Tbsp. dry white wine

1 cup + 2 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar

2 Tbsp. sugar

1 tsp. freshly ground black pepper

1 1/2 lbs. ripe fresh tomatoes, diced

2 tsp. olive oil

2 tsp. salt

12 oz. haricots verts or green beans

1 tsp. lemon juice

6 6 oz. fresh tuna steaks, 1 inch thick

1/4 cup loosely packed fresh basil leaves, thinly sliced

Combine wine, vinegar, sugar and 1/4 tsp. pepper in a small saucepan over medium-high heat.

Simmer until slightly thickened and syrupy, about 30 minutes. Remove from the heat and set aside.

Combine tomatoes, 1 tsp. olive oil and 1/4 tsp. pepper in a medium bowl. Toss and set aside.

Heat a grill or grill pan until medium hot. Combine the haricots verts, lemon juice, remaining olive oil, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper in a bowl and toss well.

Arrange the beans on the hot grill and cook, turning, until just limp and lightly charred. Transfer to a serving platter.

Sprinkle the remaining salt and pepper on all sides of the tuna steaks.

Brush the wine and vinegar mixture on top and sides of steaks.

Place, glazed side down on the grill. Grill brushing with more glaze, until lightly charred per side or 6-7 minutes for well done.

Transfer to the serving platter with the beans.

Add the basil to the tomatoes, toss and spoon over the tuna. Serve immediately.
