Double Berry Cobbler

This wonderfully delicious Double Berry Cobbler is made in your slow cooker!

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 1/2 cups sugar, divided

1 tsp. baking powder

1/4 tsp. salt

1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg

2 eggs, beaten

2 Tbsp. milk

2 Tbsp. oil

2 cups blackberries

2 cups blueberries

3/4 cup water

1 tsp. orange zest

ice cream or whipped cream, optional

Combine flour, 3/4 cup sugar, baking powder, salt, and spices in a medium bowl, set aside.

In a small bowl, combine eggs, milk and oil, stir into flour mixture until moistened.

Spread batter evenly in a 3-4 quart slow cooker, set aside.

Combine berries, water, zest and remaining sugar in a large saucepan.

Bring to a boil, remove from heat and pour over batter without stirring.

Cover and cook on high setting for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Uncover and let stand 30 minutes.

Spoon into bowls, topped with ice cream or whipped topping, if desired.
