Classic Cuban Picadillo

This Classic Cuban Picadillo is a cherished classic, authentic Cuban comfort food. Try this one!

1 Tbsp. olive oil

1 clove garlic, minced

1 small onion, chopped

1/2 green bell pepper, chopped

1 lb. lean ground beef

6 large pitted green olives, quartered

1/2 cup raisins

1 Tbsp. capers (optional)

1-8 oz. can tomato sauce

2-(1.41 oz.) packages sazon seasonings

1 Tbsp. ground cumin

1 tsp. white sugar

salt to taste

Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook and stir garlic, onion and green bell pepper in hot oil until softened.

Crumble ground beef into skillet and cook until completely browned. Stir in olives, raisins, caper, tomato sauce, sazon seasoning, cumin, sugar and salt.

Mix thoroughly through the ground beef. Cover the skillet, reduce heat to low and cook until heated through, 5-10 minutes.

Serve.

How to make Sazon seasoning:  garlic powder, onion powder, coriander, oregano, cumin, salt, pepper and paprika
