Brie in Puff Pastry

This Brie in Puff Pastry makes an easy to prepare, rich, elegant appetizer for a special occasions!

1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed

1/4 cup apricot jam

1 13.2 oz. round Brie cheese

1 egg

1 Tbsp. water

apple slices

Roll the sheet of puff pastry into a 14 inch square. Spread the apricot jam into a 4 1/2 inch circle in the center of pastry, place the Brie cheese over jam. Fold pastry around cheese, trim the excess dough. Pinch the edges to seal.

Place seam side down on ungreased baking sheet. Beat the egg and water, brush over pastry.

Cut the trimmed pastry pieces into decorative shapes and place on top, brush with egg mixture if desired.

Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.

Serve warm with apple slices.
