Blackberry Crisp

This Blackberry Crisp makes a delicious treat for after dinner!

3/4 cup sugar, divided

3/4 cup + 1 Tbsp. flour, divided

1 tsp. cinnamon, divided

5-6 cups blackberries

1/8 tsp. salt

1/3 cup butter

1/4 cup chopped walnuts

1/4 tsp. orange or lemon zest, optional

Combine 1/4 cup sugar, 4-5 tablespoons flour and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, gently fold into berries.

Spread in a greased 9 inch pie plate.

Combine remaining sugar, flour and cinnamon, add salt.

Cut in butter a little at a time with a fork or pastry blender, until crumbly.

Add chopped nuts and zests if using.

Sprinkle topping over berries.

Bake at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes or until golden.

Serves 4-6
