Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast Casserole

Make this Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast Casserole for your family breakfast or makes a great one for guests!

2-16 oz. cans large, flaky biscuits

1 lb. ground breakfast sausage

4 Tbsp. flour

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp ground black pepper

1/2 tsp. garlic powder

3 cups milk

2 Tbsp. melted butter

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Open cans of biscuits and cut into quarters. Set aside.

Prepare a 9 x 13 inch casserole dish with cooking spray.

Layer half of the quartered biscuits in prepared pan. Bake for 10 minutes.

Brown sausage over medium-high heat until cooked through. Reduce heat to medium.

In a small bowl mix together flour, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Sprinkle on the cooked sausage. Stir into sausage until completely absorbed. Add milk slowly, stirring to combine.  Continue stirring until mixture comes to a simmer.

Reduce heat to low and let simmer until gravy has started to thicken, stir frequently.

Pour gravy over bottom layer of biscuits.

Layer the remaining uncooked biscuit pieces over the gravy.

Bake 15-20 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.

Brush 1-2 Tablespoons of melted butter over the tops of the biscuits.

Serves 8-10
